Artist Portraits
Editta Sherman is an Italian-born American photographer, often referred to as The "Photographer of the Stars". Her portfolio of large format 8×10 negative camera images taken of major celebrities, and associations date to the 1940s when she opened for business in her rent controlled studio on the top floor of Carnegie Hall. I heard Editta interviewed on NPR talking about being evicted from her Carniege Hall studio after being there for over 50 years. I emailed her and she agreed to have me take a portrait for my series. She was not feeling well but still manged to look her best.
